Poppies

Each poppy is individually hand felted or sewn with silk, by Silk Pixie, because I will never forget.

As a child in the 1970s, there were still soldiers from the 1914-1918 war alive when I was young.

My first cousin, once removed, took part in the Normandy Landings of WWII, and I remember vividly a tale told by a schoolteacher of a bout of chickenpox which prevented him from taking part in a mission, and ultimately saved his life, as his replacement was killed in combat, and also Uncle Henry Owen, who like so many others answered the call, and paid the price.

In memory of those men and all others who served their country and continue to serve, I've created these poppies.
