Kunzite

Spodumene gets its name from the Greek "burnt to ashes" because it is most common in its grey form.

Kunzite is the pink variety of spodumene, coloured by manganese, a delicate violet-pink stone it is fragile and because the colour fades in light, it is more popular with museums and collectors than with jewellers.
