Zircon

Zircon has often been mistaken for diamond, but the wear and tear on the stones show zircon for what it is.

In a range of colours, some of the less popular brown stones are heat treated to turn them blue or clear.

The yellow stone is popular, and it is this colour which gave the stone it's name, from the Arabic zargun from Persian for Gold Colour.

In yellow zircon was attributed with the power to give the wearer riches, wisdom and honour and even warn of danger if it became lack-lustre.
