The Moon
Since ancient times the moon has held a part of humankind's imagination, it's control of the tides, how it appears to change size, shape and colour, according to it's position in the sky,
There is the Lunar calendar, where each month is 29.5 days, with the moon waxing and waning within it's journey round the earth.
It is used for setting festivals, such as Islamic Ramadan and it has played it's part in agriculture, such as sowing times and harvest.
2025 is a special year because it is a "Major Lunar Standstill" year something which only occurs every 18.6 years when the moon is either very high or very low.
