June

Named after Juno, Queen of the Roman Gods, this month sees both the first day of summer which is also the longest day and Midsummer 24th in the same week. Midsummer is celebrated in the Shakespeare classic "A Midsummer's Night Dream" a tale of fairies, fantasy and a little bestiality!

Birthdays include those of Marilyn Monroe on 1st in 1926, Judy Garland on the 10th in 1922 and Henry VIII of England on 24th in 1491.

Meteorlogical Summer starts on the first of the month.

Father's Day is celebrated worldwide also the Litha (Pagan Midsummer), Hajj (Islam).
